6th Military District

 The Sixth Military District consists of the states of Arizona, Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The Sons of Veterans Reserve (SVR) is the ceremonial uniformed military component of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). SVR Units participate in Civil War related ceremonies, parades, living history programs, and re-enactments.
The mission of the SUVCW is to perpetuate the memory of those who served in the Great War of 1861 to 1865. To educate and keep the story alive of those members of the Grand Army of the Republic and to honor them with fitting respect.

It is the role of the SVR to serve within this context as the uniformed, ceremonial arm of the SUVCW and represent it publicly through parades, displays, and living history events.

Battery A, 3rd United States Artillery

The 6th Military District, NV/CA Artillery serves as Battery A, 3rd United States Artillery. This Battery served in the Western Theater of the American Civil War, originally in California and later during the New Mexico Campaign. The 3rd US is the SVR Unit assigned to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), General William Passmore Carlin, Camp 25 in Reno, NV.
